and just one correction on Linda's post.  We never had to rescue Rhea Mae.  She successfully fledged and went on to be a good mom.   wub2

This gorgeous piece of amber was generously donated to RFalconcam by one of our members.   thumbsup

The picture doesn't do it justice.  It could be made into a pendant or pin or some other piece of jewerly.  Thanks to all those that bid and remember that 100% goes towards the Rochester Falconcam.   clap

and I wanted to thank you, Marcia, June and Shaky for sacrificing yourselves yesterday afternoon.  I remained for about 1/2 hour after the reception and Archer put on an incredible flying academy for his very young eyases.  He flew back and forth in front of the nest box, performing acrobatic moves that only a Peregrine can do, vocalizing the whole time.

It seems kind of early for this kind of lesson, but Archer was having fun and I enjoyed watching it.   clap

It was a good way to make the tenants aware of what was happening on their building.  That was the main purpose of the meet and greet.   happy

Frank at the Times Square Bldg threw a Hatching Day Party for the tenants of the building to become acquainted with the Peregrines that were now nesting on top of their building.  Here's the cake that he provided.   happy

Today in the lobby of the Times Square Building, Frank, the owner of the little shop down there, had a cake to celebrate the hatching of the eyasses. I took four of the watchers up to my office and after a bit Beauty flew in and out a few times, giving a nice show. She saved a couple closer squawking flybys until minutes after everybody left, though. It was very nice having some watchers drop by rather than peering down at them from my window.

Cool!  And nice to hear others are celebrating as well!  Did anyone take a picture of the cake?  Grin

Yep!  I think everyone but Shaky took a picture of the cake.  It was 1/2 chocolate and 1/2 white cake.   Wink hungry

And we enjoyed it as well Mark.  Thanks for the tour.  You have a spectacular view!

Yes! You're office view is wonderful Mark.  Thank you so much for the invite.   clap

The Watchers that were honored to visit Mark were Jim P, Marcia L, Shaky and Carol P.   wave

Archer is definitely hunting successfully and bringing food to Beauty.  Over the weekend, Watchers saw Archer bring in food and do a mid-air food exchange with Beauty.  On Sunday afternoon, I saw Archer hunt successfuly over the river, prep the food on the Wilder Bldg. and bring it to the nest box.  In both cases, Beauty took the food and fed the eyases.  Everything's going good.  The eyases have full crops and they're growing like weeds.   clap thumbsup 2thumbsup

After watching for a few hours yesterday morning, I can assure you that when one parent flies off, the other is very close to the nest box.  You may not see them on camera.  They don't leave it undefended.   happy

Oh, and congrats on your first post Doggymom.  Good question.   wave
