Rochester Falcons / Rochester Falcon Offspring / Re: Seneca Sighted at Brookpark Road Bridge with a Mate!

I’ve always said that a Peregrine Falcon is a gift that blossoms before our eyes. From the wet, pink almost featherless newly hatched chick to the white fluff of the eyas to the awkward pin-feather covered youngsters to the dark & milk chocolate brown patterns of the fledgling. At that point, you almost get a glimpse of what they will look like when they lose their juvenile feathers. But it is a true honor to see the young fledgling we watched grow before our eyes transformed into their adult plumage. Then do we see the parents we adored.

Carol P - is my memory correct (it often isn't) that it was Seneca who sat on the pedestrian bridge, just outside the railings, watching the people go by only inches away? So you and I, wanting to show her that she should not trust people, ran towards her to scare her away - and people thought we were just awful!

I can't remember (my memory's fading too!). So many of the young fledglings get a little too close to people and not all people should be trusted.

They're both restless this morning, flying in and out, stopping at the base of Mercury, flying out as far as the Chase Tower (then my eyes fail me, any suggestions on a good scope?), following each other and so on.
Mark - A good pair of binoculars would probably be better for you. You can follow them when they're moving. A scope's great if they've landed and stay put long enough for you check them out. I have Nikon Monarch 8X42 binocs. They're very lightweight and I've been very happy with them.

Congrats on your first post on the new forum Abacab. To add to Ei's post, The Watchers have seen no evidence of another site being chosen by A&B. They are most active around the Times Square Bldg and the nest box located there. Keep looking for that first egg!
