I'm so sorry that Ozzie is so ill.  She is a beautiful Black Masked Lovebird.  I had two Peach Faced Lovebirds named Rocky and Rambo.  They ended up both being female.   

My thoughts are with you and Ozzie.

A groups of shocked twitchers found themselves on the end of startling insult as thousands of starlings flipped them the bird.


Reacting like a furious celebrity when faced with a gaggle of paparazzi outside a night club at 3am, the birds showed the assembled twitchers exactly what they thought of the invasion of their privacy.

The flock of hundreds of thousands at Gretna Green in Scotland were heading back to roost at dusk after a long day feeding and clearly were in a twitchy mood.

The birds constantly change shapes in an attempt to outwit predators - any actual insult to the twitchers or the world in general is unlikely to have been intentional.

Photographer Fiona Exon said: 'There were fantastic flowing formations and shapes.'

That is way too funny.  I love the way the author of the article had to explain to everyone that the insult wasn't intentional.  Hahahahaha!   

Has anyone seen bands on the juvie?

No, I don't think Dana & Lou were able to see any bands.  I don't think they had a good view of the legs.

Was it his Buddy or our Buddy???

The Rochester Falconcam Merchandise Team met this evening (Wednesday 12/3) to fill a few more orders for the Christmas/Holiday Cards.  If you've placed an order and have not received them in the next couple days, please let us know.   

I'm so glad that everyone has liked the cards.  This was our first time doing something like this.  Thanks to those that have posted about them.   

We'll soon be posting a link to a 3rd Rochester Falconcam calendar.  This is a classic and a collectors item.  Everyone will be talking about them.    Everyone will want one.

I can't wait for Aconcagua (banded as a male) to turn up somewhere as a female.   

I'd turn their you-know-what's in free of charge.   

Yes, the nest box that Linn was/is? being seen at was originally a hack box.  Tybropa-Cree was hacked from that box.  I saw pictures of him and his siblings inside the box with bars at the front.  The bars have been removed.  Like Donna said, they are there to protect the eyases.  To keep them from fledging too early.

Not sure if the box at the Lennox Power Plant is the same or not.

I sent an email to Mark Nash at the Canadian Peregrine Foundation to ask about the nest box at the Lennox Power Station and included a link to Lennoxman's pictures.  I'll let you know when I hear back from him.

Do we know if a young admirer would do Mariah any good or is he too young to be a good provider and partner?

Dana mentioned that she thought the juvie was probably a female, due to size and that it seemed to be getting some adult plumage.  So she maybe Quest's age?  If the juvie turns out to be male, who knows what might happen.  We'll definitely keep watching.

Thanks for trying - again! And in case you didn't know, there is a ferry that runs from a little town of Cape Vincent, NY over to Kingston (in case you didn't want to travel all they way up to the bridge). I believe it has closed for this season, but maybe next year...??
