That is some beautiful country. Love the islands. Wonder what it would be like in winter though? The CROWS wow now those are huge birds wonder what kind of food they have been eating to get so big. Question about Lennoxman's pictures. It looks like the nest box is metal, is it? Wouldn't it get too hot in the full sun? Good question. I really thought it was made of wood when we looked at it from below. I just check Lennoxman's pictures and it sure does look like it's made of metal. I think I'll send a question off to Mark Nash (CPF), to ask what he thinks about that. Carol P.

A little more details about the two sightings this morning. At 9:50 am, I received a call from Kathy O. She was driving down 104 (Keehler St Xpressway), heading east. She saw a bunch of pigeons flying over the three tall apartment buildings on the north side of the expressway. She pulled over and grabbed her binoculars. There was a Peregrine flying behind the pigeons. Kind of just floating up there. She was very excited when she saw the split wing tip! Yes! She is 99% sure she was watching Mariah.
Mariah landed on the east most apartment on the railing at the top. By the time Kathy drove around to get a better view, Mariah was gone. Kathy was sooooooo excited and so was I. What a wonderful way to start Thanksgiving day.
At 10:10 am, my phone rang again. It was Larry O and he had Beauty on the Mercury Statue near the Times Square Bldg.
So within 20 minutes, we had sightings of both Mariah and Beauty. Woo Hoo!
Happy Thanksgiving everyone!!!

Wishing everyone a very Happy Thankgiving!!
and a very Happy Thanksgiving to you also! Hope everyone enjoys the day with their family and their friends. Although we've had many set-backs this year, we've also had many things happen that we should be very thankful for. Let's list them. I'll start.............. 1. I am thankful that Mariah is safe and well after her territorial battle.

Monday November 23, 2009 After venturing out onto the perch and preparing herself for flight, Froona has finally fledged. Which leaves our webcam looking at an empty nestbox. Never fear, whether it's driving rain or a tempting snack, the chicks continue to return home, sometimes for picture perfect moments like this.
Oh, my goodness! They're all so dark. Beautiful eyases!
