Falcons are e-chupping and a promise of a white Christmas -- that's as good as it gets!

"Ralphie as Adult: [narrating] In the heat of battle my father wove a tapestry of obscenities that as far as we know is still hanging in space over Lake Michigan."

I grew up listening to Jean Shepherd on WOR Radio in New York, and even got to meet him once, years later.  He remains one of major influences.  On my latest flight across Lake Michigan, I verified that the tapestry was still in place.  The lights of General Mitchell Field were only dimly visible through it.

What a great job!  I hope more living history documentaries like this get made, because the generation of people who worked to reintroduce the Peregrine are not getting any younger.

Speaking of reintroduction, I felt it appropriate that this was posted on the day the Whooping Cranes of the Class of 2012 arrived at the St. Mark's Wildlife Refuge in Florida at the end of their ultralight aircraft-led migration from Wisconsin.

Patti and Jeanne,

This was a trip in every sense of the word!  We have to take Catherine to Yellowstone -- she has not been yet.

Again, thanks for a great experience.

Orville could be non-releasable?  Does Wild WIngs need some gravel?  Could he be an education rock?
