Just listening to the wonderful David Attenborough on BBC radio. 85 and going strong! One of the "songs" he chose for his Desert Island was that of the Lyre Bird. Not much to look at (tho I think he is lovely) - but boy, can he sing!

News just coming in on the radio re another Red Kite being poisoned. And with a poison which has been banned for YEARS! Anger. Despair. And NO PROSECUTIONS!!! Fines can be up to Euro 5,000 and a year in prison.
