3346  Member Activities / Pets / Donna needs some hugs! on: 11-Feb-11, 09:48:50 AM
It seems that Donna will have to say good-bye to her cat, Bucca, today. He has been a sick little fellow for a while now, and I am sure the decision was a long time in coming. For any of us who have bid farewell to a beloved pet, we know how hard that is. And that the tears can last for a long time.

So to Donna and Co. - as you take Bucca across the Rainbow Bridge - we are thinking about you and sending love and hugs!

could this be the same guy as last year? and he just spends his "vacation" with Beauty? Does anyone remember if they were bowing to each other last year?

Not sure if they bowed to each other or not last year, but it will be interesting to see if this Tiercel leaves on his own this year, before Archer returns.  What an interesting behavour, if this Tiercel has a mate and nest site of his own somewhere and he winters here in Rochester with Beauty.  Very interesting indeed.  OK, I just love watching their behavours.   happy

Personally, I hope he does leave and there is no territorial battle between the two Tiercels.
Yes no more fighting I know its the falcon way but I don't like it.

Guess we'll just have to fasten our seat-belts...  it could be a bumpy ride!

No, not that one... the new BBC wildlife series... watch for it, as it is amazing, and narrated by that natural history treasure, Sir David Attenborough. Here's a small taste.

More on Bob Marcotte's winter visitors. Eighteen species is good going. What do others experience?

Don't rock the Anthem. Don't hop-hop it. Don't pimp it. Don't boogie it. Just sing it right! Get some high school kid from the neighbourhood and ask him or her to do it right! It does not need twists and turns and rubbish phrasing. Sing it straight! I am always soooooo embarrassed when I hear these hot rock people go at it. Just get up there, cut the rubbish and sing! Hand on heart and sing!

I'm with you!  Our National Anthem isn't some trendy rock song.  I feel the same about what some of them do to Christmas Carols.  Keep the theatrics on the stage at THEIR OWN concerts, and spare us the rubbishing of classics.
My NOT so humble opinion  handshake

Go, Carol! For next year's SB, let's suggest they get the high school choir to do it... and give the residuals to the school!!!

Did I mention the 11 month old Great Dane that sleeps with me in their king size bed? I get an edge of it and she kicks me throughout the night while visions of Peregrine Falcons dance in my head!!!  OY! Grin

Our MAK will soon be presented with the "Above and Beyond the Call of Duty Award for Falcon-Watchers and Aunties". It does not come with any financial reward... just heartfelt sympathy!!!

Count down the days, MAK! Count down the days!!
