Amazing! Action to save Loggerhead Turtles after the BP oil disaster. A few good people... And something I had not heard about....There, after hatching, the baby turtles would be released into the oil-free Atlantic. When I arrived in Alabama in late July, tens of thousands of turtle eggs, from hundreds of nests, were already in the process of being relocated — all during a point in their development when even a slight jolt to the egg could be lethal. Since we've only been seeing the KP female (we believe), I have to wonder if the Tiercel she was hanging out with has also migrated. Maybe he and Archer took off together.  I wish them safe wanderings and look forward to when they return.... Bye little guys  I hope it does turn out to be a Buddy Movie. Gonna miss that Archer - what a Super Little Guy! |

No, not the penguins. This time, it is all about the ponies and dogs that were essential in reaching the South Pole. Good piece. And something else for Jeff - without whom, I do not think I would be paying so much attention to this particular part of the world.

Just enjoyed a pleasant half-hour (ok, probably more!) going through Jim and Dawn's trip to Italy. Did not dare go to other links as I would still be there. (As it is time in Ireland for tax submissions.... eeeeeeee-uuuu!) Anyway - if anyone has not hit it, off you go. We do not need to read other travel writers while he's around. So vivid and fascinating. Thanks for the break! (And why, might I ask politely, are you Lord G? And a March Lord to boot? If you go to the BirdLife Malta website, there is an audio stream from what appears to be last weekend. Sad listening, in spite of the distortion.
I have just signed their Guest Book with a message of support and a request for people to contact to voice both my encouragement and condemnation.
