Sad indeed. But with all the tourists, it was bound to happen.

Looks like Dot.ca on Cam #1 aka Pan Cam for a few moments this morning.

I go to a LOT of trouble to visit these two throughout the day. And are they ever at home? No, they are not. And I have come so far! Seriously. Rude.

Saw that snow-free nest-box, Carol P. They can stop excavating, it seems. Interesting to note that the falcons - and many other species (?) - are triggered by daylight rather than temps.

Springtime comes earlier here, and the Corvids are already flying about with hulking great logs. But our Robins are still fighting over territory. I await the first signs of Courtship Feeding, which is always so charming - and a sure sign that Nature is on the turn.

Surge died of a broken Heart!

http://www.thespec.com/news-story/5462692-surge-the-sheraton-falcon-died-of-a-broken-heart/

It's as plain as the beak on your face. Surge the falcon is dead, and how can it be from anything other than a broken heart?

Ohhhhhh! Poor thing.

Cry Cry crying crying

Thursday, March 5, 2015 - The Hamilton Community Peregrine Project regrets to advise all Falconwatchers that Surge has died. Although apparently well when first seen at the Ontario Veterinary College (OVC) this morning, while being examined he suddenly expired. A post-mortem examination will be conducted to see if it is possible to learn what caused his death.

Ohhhhhh! Little guy!!!
