Here's a thing... I cannot tell you how long it took me to realise that this was NOT the shadow of an adult, coming in to watch over the nest box...

And here's me, thinking I am the only doofus. Nice to know that I am surrounded by eejits... SO much more fun!!!

Gulls are getting a bad press these days, at least on this side of the pond.

Moving from the old forum to the new one was very painful for some of our falcon fans.  Some made the transition and some didn't.  My Rfalconcam forum wish is that all those folks that are still lurking on the old forum, reconsider joining this one.  We are here to help if needed.

We miss all of you!!!   wave

We do! I guess I came on board with the new regime... but there are names I think I remember from before that I would love to hear from again! Thanks, Carol P!

703  Anything Else / Totally OT / Re: Star Wars Begins Filming in Kerry, Ireland, Amid Wildlife Safety Concerns on: 31-Jul-14, 11:16:34 AM
They may have named HAN Solo's ship the Millennium FALCON, but that's where their respect for falcons (and many other bird species) ends, apparently.

Yup! Money talks. Ya think?! This is such a fragile environment!!!! Unique. And a UNESCO site. Shame on us!

Totally ticked off at this! Completely behind BirdWatch Ireland and their objections. I have not been to this amazing place, but I have been on other western islands to ring/band Stormies, Puffins etc. One step either way, and the nest collapses. (Apropos... Must get someone to tell people... including the BBC... that it is HAN Solo... but that's another argument...)

I saw this... but there had already been so much Falcon Sadness in our area, I could not bear to add another one! Little things!
