That is not a duck is it???  Sad

Say it IS a duckling... I did not know that falcons took prey other than on the wing. I would be interested to know if they take prey from the ground.

Yep, she's a big girl.  And look at those gorgeous blue feet!  I think we'll need to come up with a name for that shade of blue.  How about falcon blue?

Hers are even bluer than Nor'easter...and maybe even bluer than Rosetta's...

Maybe Tesh blue?

Big Crop Blue.

Well, I think Rhea Mae's legendary appetite has met it's match! No wonder Tesh couldn't stand up!

Yes big thank you and big sigh of relief.  handshake

No we noticed it too, it's not moving at all and is laying on it's back.

A good 10 minutes by my count. Not liking this.

OK, I am probably fussing, but the little one in the back has been lying like that for a while now...

810  Rochester Falcons / Rochester Falcon Discussion / Re: How does any eyas survive living in that disgusting nest?? on: 10-Jun-14, 07:52:42 AM
This might be in the wrong place, but I wonder how on earth the eyases manage to survive the germs and diseases that must accumulate in a nest box that filthy with poop and rotten prey parts. In their natural cliff habitat, I suppose the wind would blow away most of the body parts, but that isn't happening in this box.  sick-298 Ick and double ick

Dot in PA

Good point, Dot. Still... it seems loads of raptors have no probs, esp when the nestboxes get cleaned every year... don't they??
