Here is the Puzzle of the Week 229 Redshank I saw this Redshank on Texel. There were many of them. This one was making nice poses for me. Thank you Redshank!
Yesterday I saw a Hedgehog in my garden, it's a young one. Later that day I talked with someone who has a garden next to me and he told that a few days ago in an other garden, 2 hedgehogs (probably mother and child) were fallen in a drain and drowned. They had taken away the drain cover for some work and didn't put it back. I'm so upset, it's so stupid !!! I think the hedgehog in my garden is an other child from that mother, I feel so sorry for him. I build a kind of shelter for him with lots of fallen leaves and I put some food outside, but I didn't see him again. I hope that I will see him tomorrow. greetings Aafke
Here is the Puzzle of the Week 228 Lots of Starlings
I heard a lot of noise, I went into my garden and saw hundreds of Starlings, every time a group of 100 a 200 (I think) flew right over my head, making a lot of noise. This tree was full of birds.
Here is a Video from 2 young White Storks on the nest. I took it in june orso.
It's not Maxi, but a nest that's not far from Maxi's nest. It shows only a very small part from what we saw. I think we looked at the White Storks for 2 hours I sent pictures from this nest 2 weeks ago.
Here is an video that I took in July, it's from a young Great Tit, who is trying to open a sunflowerseed, but it's still very difficult for him. I'm sure today he will do better!!
Donna, thanks! Really fantastic pictures. Every year I visit the exhibition of those winning pictures. It's always a great pleasure to look at them, they are even nicer in bigger format. greetings Aafke
Here is the Puzzle of the Week 227 "Cormorant" I took this picture of a Cormorant also on Texel. Right behind him you can see a piece of a male mallard.
