On the way to & from the grocery store...
3 ducks in flight-couldn't tell what kind-just the flapping like mad & not getting very far of a duck
2 kettles of Turkey Vultures
2 probably blue jays-size was right & they were doing the single flap/bullet glide of a blue jay
Small flock of LBJs
3 mourning doves
Sorry but I'm thinking and thinking, what are LBJ's? Greetings Aafke |

Thanks everybody for sending your birds.
Are there new members who saw birds this weekend, please send your list.
Donna and Ei thanks for sending the relevant posts from the KFC.
Carla can you already send your list?
I'm busy with making the total list.
Everybody can still send their weekend list!!!
I was out for 2 days and saw lots of birds.

What if you don't know what the bird is?? I'm not good on Bird ID's. Then again, I don't see many species anyway! I'll give it my best shot.   I was thinking we can add a separate topic like "I need ID help" for photos & descriptions so we can help each other out with that... Yes good idea. Donna you know a lot of birds in your neighborhood!!! Otherwise just wrote what you saw, something like: funny small bird, looks like a Dutch cow orso (you know with the white and black spots) I'm sure you can come up with something. greetings Aafke |

It's always nice to look for birds, that's the reason that I like to organize a Bird Counting Weekend. We did it before and it was fun.
You only have to go outside and look for birds, you can also look when you walk to your work or to the shop or when you are in your house you can move a chair to the window and look outside.
It's real easy. But be careful when you drive in your car.
Write down the birds you see and send them to this topic. I will put all of them in a list and we can see what birds we saw over the whole world.
Start counting the birds on Friday (tomorrow) and Saturday and Sunday.
I hope it's clear to you and that you will participate.
