I think that's part of a pipe on the building.  Prey is definitely a pigeon.  Ei and Dan saw her catch it right over their heads around 6:15 or so.  I havent seen any peacocks in the area!  Dale, BTW, your TShirt design is here.  miss you.

You are one lucky falcon fanatic.  All of your pictures are great!  Thanks.

Great pictures and video of Orion. Love the puffins, too.  Beautiful.

Thanks, Ei.  He looks like he has been flying forever.  Hunger is a great motivator.

We have a juvie in trouble.  Our contact at 10 Exchange investigated reports of a sick bird huddled at the entrance to the building.  It was one of our young guys.  People were walking within five feet of him and he wasn't moving.  He was easily captured with a towel, put into a box and hastily transported to the Raptor Trust.  We will let you know anything we can as soon as we can.  Fingers crossed.  He has been 'on the wing' since mid June.  Last week a kind soul from 101 Hudson saw a juvie perched on 15 Exchange for a very long time and he notified us.  The bird did fly away and we figured it had to be very hungry because it should be hunting on its own by now.  This could be the same bird.

Now I'm feeling sad because I could have gone down last Saturday when I got back from California.

Looked like he might have flown off the wall just a bit, but he was flapping on the north wall 2 minutes ago.  I started to log into chat and missed what happened just now.

Just when you turn away because you think he won't fly, he will go off the wall.  Boy, is he a couch potato, er, box potato.

He's teasing us again.  41 days today.  Who said 42 days?  An extra donut hole for you on Saturday.

I guess I am officially retired.  I have some time to look up some of this stuff.  Found this video.  I apologize if you have seen it before.

Why should he fly away?

Hmmm, all this really suggests the adults want Orion to fly.  Each bird has its own personality, though.  Hopefully he won't take too many risks when he goes off the building.

Someone better send O an email that it's time to fly.  Maybe he isn't quite strong enough yet and Beauty and Dot.ca know it.  Thought for sure he would go today.  The red tails in Manhattan at both Washington Square and Cathedral of St. John the Divine all fledged in the evening.  It was a surprise for everyone.
