Her coloring looks just like our Six now at Jersey City.  He fledged at Riverside church in 2004 I think.

Isn't it thrilling?  Glad to know they are safe at this time.

Rochester falcons are rewriting the falcon book.  And what if Unity's egg hatches?  That would be the eighth wonder of the world.

Here are pictures for everyone on this forum.  The fledglings have two other fledglings to fly with.  And they know how to land.  The first picture dramatically points out the dangers of windows.

Cheesy  Happy news to report.  We have two fledglings.  Mike and I were in JC this afternoon and we saw two active youngsters playing a rambunctious game of talon tag.  Our hearts stopped as they flew quite close to the windows on 10 Exchange Place.  I just hope they were practicing staying away from the windows.  10 Exchange is now their home base.  We left one fledgling perched and preening on the very tippy top of the spire.

The eyas got fed early this morning. Checked the archives - thanks, Shaky.  I'm sure the chick was fed before and after, too.

Starting to look like a fluffball

Can't wait to be there to see the fledgling(s).  Getting my ticket for mid August.

Mike and I witnessed the 200 mile an hour peregrine falcon coming right at us this morning.  No pics, couldn't focus fast enough.  Athena went into a stoop from the top of 101 Hudson and looked a bullet as she went 30 feet over our heads and caught a pigeon in the building next to us.  She circled directly overhead and of course landed and prepped.  Miss Fluff got some more food even though her crop was bulging from a earlier meal.  Saw only one fledgling today, but no news is good news.

I was at the site today.  You can read about it at:

http://www.peregrinefalcon-bcaw.net/viewtopic.php?f=23&t=1059&start=380

The short version is that we,  Mike and I, confirmed two fledglings one level below the scrape. We were there around 9-11.  Dad was on duty and flew off at one point then returned with brunch.  He proceeded to give flying lessons to the bird I believe is the female.  We could not get band IDs so who knows.  I posted that this group is timid.  Perhaps Athena was off training the more adventurous of the group which we have named Buzz for Buzz Aldrin who was born in Montclair quite close.  The other names are Frank for Sinatra from Hoboken and Jackie from Conserve Wildlife NJ, Woman of the year 2011.  But I call our lovely female is Miss Fluff.  She still has her down and it may never, ever go away.
