I second, third and fourth te Mariah stories section. I know it is looking backward but history is good to know. Then we can make a Beauty and Unity section. Their stories are priceless. And we can also look forward.

While quite so sad and uncomfortable for all, humans and especially Violet, birds hide their problems almost until it is impossible to treat them. If she is captured, she may not be happy in a captive environment which is ultimately the case. It is a very tough call on this one.

Interesting. I am facing this issue. I didn't realize if I designated public in my files anyone could use them and make money off them. That has changed. But I now have a web site that kind of protects that. If I post anyone can see them. The files are small enough they would make terrible copies. It is an issue as I move to retirement and have sold a few pictures. My photog friends don't put up their good ones.

Steve Jobs and his Apple creations have helped birders immensely. I have all the software and apps invented for identifying birds.
I take exception to a few things in that Audubon article which I will tell them. Apple seeds contain arsenic. I doubt that any bird in it's right mind is eating apple seeds. The fleshy part of the apple is passion fruit for birds. They don't like the peel though.

I am not quite sure. I can ask him. But it has nothing to do with a negative behavior. Phung Luu is all about positive rewards. But he does withhold food until they do what he wants. He does not starve the birds. I saw that Legs was not behaving and he did not get food. It is absolutely essential that the bird responds to the food reward or it would die if it ever got out into the wild. At the demonstration the turkey vulture took off on its own. If the bird had not been trained that the food was waiting with Phung Luu it would have gone off on migration and not been able to survive. While we may not like the idea, it is survival for unreleasable birds. And the turkey vulture and Legs are unreleasable because of physical or mental problems.
