Chances are less than 1% that the bird is Mariah.

Peregrines caught in a net are only given the US band, I think, since they don't know where they are from.  We do know Athena at 101 Hudson is over 12 years old and was banded on the east coast, probably Pennsylvania or Delaware.

Between Donna, my friend Mike, and Jim Wright, any news about peregrines in NJ gets printed.

We will be contacting Phung Luu shortly to see about Legs, the deformed eyas from 101 Hudson.  I'll try and get the picture Mr. Luu showed us of Legs.  And the bird probably has his new name.  Luu and his partner, Jackie, had great things to say about Legs.

Looks like the peregrine only has a US Fish and Wildlife band.  I doubt it is Athena from 101 Hudson.  She isn't going to travel that far I don't think.  NJ seems to be on top of letting the public know what's going on, or is it just you, Donna?

I'm jealous again. I have not seen any hummers at my feeders, just bees sucking up the syrup. Thanks.

Thanks, again, all.

I am jealous.  I have been out every morning recently specifically looking for some of our residents.  I keep hearing reports:  saw one yesterday, five flew over, young one at the pond.

Thanks, MAK.  I never have considered myself a photographer until recently.  I truly love the nice comments.

Thanks, Donna.  My grandson likes the site, too.   Made my day.  You know how discriminating grandsons can be.  Especially fifteen year old grandsons.

Not sure if this the right place for this, but I have a new blog.  iWeb will be no more by next year and I had to find a new place for my pictures.  I am now a .com. Enjoy the pictures.  I have posted some of them here before. I'll be adding many more peregrines shortly.

It could be the youngster from New York City who has been hanging around there, according to my friend, Mike.  The bird remains unidentified.  No one can read the band yet.

Mike, my JC peregrine friend, knows Jim Wright and has been out on his boat checking out scrapes.  There are quite a few in the area.  I'll email Mike and see if he knows.  He goes to DeKorte quite often.  One of the young from Kearney ended up at Tri State and then was hacked in West Virginia recently.  The Jersey City kids probably don't venture over in that territory.  And then we have a new first/second year couple close to there.

Chewey and you and all were VERY lucky!  It could have ended another way.  I would have thought her canal was open enough after the other eggs.

You take the best vacations.  I have to post my merganser in the waves picture.  Yes, they are entertaining.  And I have a loon here, too.  Guess I'm on vacation every day now.

Can't wait for the rest of the pics.
