I was wondering about the antenna.  I guess we will know when it falls off.  What a precocious child Harlie is.

It's not good if she keeps coming down.  Either she has a hairline fracture somewhere or she is used to people.  Could be both.

Beautiful pictures.  I know the feeling exactly.  Could not see our JC family yesterday and walked all over for three hours trying to find where they are hunting or perching.  At least we got to see talon tags and tandem flying over the past few weeks.  They are five weeks old now and going off on their own.

Kendal must love his family a lot.  Good daddy.  Maybe he is deaf?  If not, he might be going deaf soon.

Bonnie  - are you in Toronto?  Or in NY area?

NY. And I have to keep track of all them here.  We are pretty sure our Jersey City male from 2009 is the male at a new site not far from JC. He was with a first year female this spring.  The site is off limits to everyone and very safe.  We have our fingers crossed that it is Bro.

I have to pick and choose where to go watch.

I agree about Rochester offspring in Toronto.  And then there are the other falcons in Toronto. Like I am ???

Our falcons generally appear to hunt in Liberty Marsh or the Meadowlands.  That includes NYC and Jersey.  Someone analyzed the prey remains in the scrapes.  Water St pair hunts in Brooklyn.  ??

Knock on wood.  If there is a place where Harlie can get into trouble, she probably will.   But then Quest took her time choosing the right place.  She certainly scouted out Canada and Cape Cod.

You are what you eat?

I was concerned because I know our Canadian friends keep in touch pretty darn quick.  Now I really believe the saying, "Bad news travels fast."  And that other one, "No news is good news."  Whew!  Nail biter, though.

Again, what a beautiful spot and especially safe for a young fledgling/juvenile.  It is so much fun to have your own, local falcons to watch.  I do miss the Rochester folks, though.
615  Rochester Falcons / Rochester Falcon Discussion / Re: Eggs or No Eggs at KP! That is the Question! on: 09-Jul-11, 04:01:32 PM
Just read on twitter that there are two eggs and Unity is incubating.  The question was will the eggs hatch this late.  I was at fledge watch in Richmond VA in 2009 on Aug 22 and 23 watching the second clutch take flight.  If the eggs manage to hatch next week, 40 days later is Aug 25.  Yes, it gets cold erlier in Rochester than in Richmond.  Nothing is impossible.  There may be fledglings in Rochester yet!!  And they may even get a mild fall.
