The JC eyas is getting more and more juvie feathers.  She is a definitely NOT a risk taker.  She went near the ramp, eyed it, tested with a talon very briefly, then waddled back to her corner.  In addition to being timid, she is VERY plump!  Waiting for wingercizing.  I don't think I'll be making the trip down there in the next two weeks.  Can't see anything until she gets up on the ledge.  Given her mental state, she may just stay on the terrace in the scrape.

Both Elizabeth NJ and Jersey City are close to the Morris Canal and Bayonne. 55 Water St is close too. If the birds choose the area we do have a way to monitor the quality of the environment. Many humans live there and i think there is a high incidence of cancer.   Fingers crossed we can improve our lives.

Kathy Clark has been keeping track of toxins in NJ birds. Here is her peregrine falcon 2016 report.

Crane collapse was a few months ago. Birds fledged. Ossining fourth grader at Claremont School where I taught for 10 years named one Puente.  Spanish for bridge. We were all very proud.  The love of birds where I live continues.

If they find the gorge by Sunday I think I can get up there.

Fingers crossed for a couple of weeks until we know all fledglings remain safe and sound.  At least we know Seabreeze is safe and getting on his way to sound.

The kids sure have a hard time controlling their huge wings, don't they.  Congrats to Ontario.  Now the real fun begins.
