Thanks, guys.  The first music that appeared on iTunes was Come So Far from Hairspray.  Then the other music from Hairspray just seemed to really fit.  Hope I am not arrested.

The bird is not banded, but it came into the cage.  Yes, I know all Quakers have to be banded in NYS.  I have a few birds I have raised and I investigated the law.  This bird could have come up the Hudson from Edgewater,NJ, but I suspect it was a captive bird.  It talks to me and is not so skittish around humans.

I have been to most of the wild Quaker sites around here, plus one that is secret.  I'll see what happens with this one.  It is very healthy.  And it can eat the grapes from my grapevines.

I just put the video up on YouTube, but it will only be up for a day or two.  I am not sure you will be able to hear the music.  Here is the link:

And here is the link to the Kodak picture file (I hope it works):

This is for my quaker parrot friends.  The bird has been coming for over a month.  It eats from the nyjer feeder as well.  I did read that quakers like thistle seeds.  I tried to catch it last week, but failed.  I'll try again soon.

Here is some great news about the Jersey City falcons:

http://www.state.nj.us/dep/fgw/peregrinecam/jcp-2010nestnews.htm

And my paternal grandparents are from Chester, PA, just across the border from Paulsboro!!  I was thinking about making a trip down there to see the area.

Of course I'll be posting the news here.  And Paul and Kathy post it on Nestbox News.  I plan on making one more trip back to Jersey City to see if I can spot any of the others.  But I don't think I'll be back at Raptor Trust until October for photographers' day.

If she can't be released I'm sure she will be able to have visitors.  Until they make the decision, I don't think so.

The broken bone in our Jersey Girl is not in a good place.  She will be in rehab for 6 - 7 weeks.  And it is not certain if she will be able to be returned to the wild.  Here is the report on the NJFW Nestbox News:

http://www.njfishandwildlife.com/peregrinecam/jcp-2010nestnews.htm

I am considering getting a falconer's license just for her.  I have a great barn and numerous feral pigeons right outside the barn door.  It is probably a good bet that she will be there when I go for the Focus on Raptors photographers event on Oct. 16.  But one never knows about these falcons.  And, she is a Jersey Girl.

I spent all day editing pictures and preparing a video.  I doubt many of you will be able to get the full effect since I don't have the rights to the music.  But I can put it up on YouTube briefly and then take it off before I am arrested.

Anyway, you will let me know if you can't get this:

I'll put the pictures up on the Kodak site shortly.

MAK, please tell Brian "Back at you!"  I always enjoy seeing Brian.  A couple of DVDs will be on their way to you both shortly.  Just whittled 700-800 pics down to 68.  Still trying to cut out a few more.

And I got to see a MAK truck!!  LOL

Loved your driveway, BTW.  Thanks again.

Loved my pilgrimage to falcon Mecca.  It was good to see a fledgling in Rochester again.  I just knew   Kid Calli would wait for us to get there to show off her newly acquired flying skills.

I, too, made it back home. Had to veer off the NYS Thruway after Kingston.  Pictures are coming.  And the tattoos are still on!  Hubby took a picture of one for the falcon record.

MAK.  Yes, I do remember, but I didn't know if it still held.  I'll be there.  See you Friday afternoon in downtown.  We'll take it from there.
