Mike is connected to Raptor Trust. Our Jersey Girl has a broken humerous. After xrays on Sunday, they will reset it and put in a pin. She is very lucky to have been found. I'll be there in October for their Focus on Raptors for photographers. She might still be there. Plus, I have an open invitation to go anytime.

I am bringing falcon toast with chicken pate. I already had the chicken and ingredients and I used Julia Child's recipe for Country Pate. No pigeon livers, sorry.
I still need a place to park. I'll see you all there Friday afternoon. I don't think I'll be able to miss any of you. And you won't be able to miss me. LOL!!

Not so good news to report. Animal control picked up Mike's bird, 00, on Tues night. The bird was on the rocks on the Hudson in front of Plaza 10 at 3 Second St. The tide was coming in and it was getting scary. Apparently security at the building noticed the bird. She was taken to Raptor Trust where she looks well fed. They can't do x-rays until Sunday. As usual, when a bird is down like that it is reported as a peregrine, but that's not often the case. It was this time. Mike and I have been talking to the security folks at the buildings in the area, but this building is about 5-10 blocks to the north. The Mack Cali manager also sent our pictures of the falcons around to all the buildings.
It pays to advertise. We are trying to learn more details about the rescue and condition of our girl.

I'm coming and will arrive on Friday afternoon or so. I'll be there for Saturday breakfast and I can bring my famous falcon toast with cream cheese this time. Would love to put on fresh pigeon meat, but...
I could use a place to park the motorhome. I'll be by myself this year. Some of you get nervous when I overnight on the streets by the gorge.
I'll be leaving Sunday depending on the falcon action. And how tired I am from the festivities.
Count me in for the Sat pm Toronto falcon video.

I stop here on my way back from Jersey City and have been rewarded with sightings of fledglings and adults. Last Saturday a fledgling made a beautiful flight around the top of the church. It landed gracefully.
This Sunday, I was treated to flying and kakking by one fledgling and preening by another. Both adults were close. One went into a stoop from the top antenna of the church and must have returned with prey. I missed pictures of the stoop and one fledgling in the air, but I did get a couple of perched shots. I wish I knew if all four are OK.

The fledglings must have flown on to better hunting grounds. We have not had any sightings for a few days. I went down 6:30 - 7:15 am today and saw nothing. I drove around in a much wider area. There is a canal where I'm sure the birds will have easy hunting. After reading about Callidora and Jemison, I got up the energy to make the trip. NJFW has no news, either, so that has to be good.

I posted this in Imprints comments, but I'll post here, too. Sorry for the duplicate. Our Jersey Girl had a fractured clavicle that healed on its own within a week and half. In fact, it had started healing by the time the Xray was taken five days after she apparently fractured it. She had two and a half weeks of quiet and lots and lots of food. She had a week to practice flying in a flight cage while still being fed a great diet. She flew out fast, strong and up and the family welcomed her back immediately. We thought we could recognize her by her unsteady landings for a couple of days, but after that, there was no way to tell her apart from her sisters. Not sure how bad the break is, but being young is definitely a good thing. Fingers crossed here.
