I haven't kept up on all the events over the past year.  What is the update on Linn?        ???

It's a sharp shinned.  I first thought I had a Cooper's in my yard, but the big toe gives it away and the feathering above the eye is another clincher.

It's tough to tell, though.  They look very similar.  Their coloring changes during the year and by age.  But that's a sharpie.

 

I would say if A & B don't nest and have eyasses there next year, there is little hope any bird will.  They are definitely claiming that box.

It looks like the bird had just had a big meal.  Those talons are huge.  Great pictures of the big middle talon.  It is quite remarkable how comfortable sharpies are around people.  I miss my gal.  Haven't seen her since last winter, but she's around.  Nobody comes out when she's in the neighborhood.

 

Very nice.  I stayed with a wildlife rehabilitator when I was in Richmond watching the peregrines.  She had three baby finches and I got to help a little with their care.

Oh, darn, and I was in Jersey City.  After driving 380 miles to Richmond I don't think I could have driven another 350 to Rochester.  Keep the faith.
