Call or email Nikon about the camera mount.  I have a Nikon P5100 now.  I went through 4 cameras and three camera mounts before I settled on something.  You can also google Nikon digiscoping.  I think there are a few forums that discuss equipment.  I never did try a camera mount for an SLR.  The camera fits right up to the lens and you have to remove the scope eyepiece.  So I would have to choose between digiscoping or using the scope. 

I have a Swarovski scope (80 HD) and binoculars (8X32).  But the planets have to be aligned before I can get really clear sharp digiscoped pictures.   Now I think I have about 10 good ones and 5,000 bad ones.  But I go more for documentation and choose interesting.  My best catch of all time is a video of an eagle attacking a coyote that is carrying a piece of deer meat across our frozen reservoir.  It was at least 3,000 feet away.  The quality is terrible.  But you can tell what is happening.

Sat on the Hudson River (downriver from the crash) and got to see Mom stoop and miss (I think).  She went back to her crystal tower and there was kakking and fly bys from the kids.  Dad was keeping watch as well.

Mike and I saw both fledglings playing talon tag around 10 Exchange Place!!  We were there for an hour and had to leave when the birds suddenly appeared flying out from 101 Hudson.  They must have been hiding.  It was TGIF for sure.

Now that bird looks like 'our' kids on Water St. and in Jersey City!!  The juvie looks like it is trying to land, but can't find quite the right spot.  They 'found' another new pair in Jersey, just north of JC.

Now, I'm getting really excited.  Of course, you guys have reported other falcons in the other area before.

Yup, the scope is a really big attraction and a great way to get folks interested in the falcons.  (or eagles)  It's also a great way to make new friends. 

 

Add my birthday wishes to the others.  How are you?  And how are those Michigan falcons?
