Rochester Falcons / Rochester Falcon Discussion / Question about females talking to their eggs
|

I have noticed several times today that, during the day, Beauty talked to the eggs as she was shifting around and/or turning them. However, this evening after dark, she has not talked to the eggs while she was shifting or turning them the two times I have seen her - I've just heard her rustling about. Is this a known behavior? And, could it be that it starts the programming of the circadian rhythms for the developing eyases? Or, by the end of the day, is she just too tired to talk? Anyone?

Mercury is really a big boy isn't he? From RocWiki: The Mercury statue, a landmark of downtown Rochester, was created in 1881 by J. Guernsey Mitchell. Mitchell was commissioned by his brother-in-law, William Kimball, the owner of the William S. Kimball Tobacco Factory, located at the corner of Court Street and Exchange Street, to craft this statue out of riveted copper plates. Once the 21 foot tall statue was completed, it was installed atop one of the factory smokestacks and quickly became a hallmark of the Rochester Skyline.
In 1951, the factory was demolished to make way for the Rochester War Memorial. The statue was placed in storage until 1973, when it was re-introduced in the Rochester skyline — this time atop the Aqueduct Building, one block north of its original home. He's a lot bigger than I realized!

It took us weeks of tweeking the two inside cameras to make them line up like that. Every hour someone had to go out during the harsh winter days to move one left, then right, then up, then down, then left, then right............. Well, you get the picture. Hahahahahahaha! You picked the harsh winter days to make sure the cameras stayed frozen where you put them, no?

Perhaps it's just that I've been unobservant, but have cams 2 and 3 always been that way? It looks like Archer is sitting in an ell-shaped box, looking at his own behind in front of him.
Whoever lined up the shots like that, thanks for the symmetry... I did a double-take for a sec...
