"Will you be able to fly after your rehab?" Yes Margaret I will, why do you ask? I flew to Arkansas for the holidays after my first knee replacement, remember?  wave

LOL, MAK......think Margaret meant to ask if rehab would "give you back your WINGS so you could FLY" along with Beauty.

Dip him in pink paint..feathers would be a nice touch and then turn him loose in the prison yard!

Oh yeah.... that would do it!!! Just Desserts, so to speak!

Violet could be given a chance to live. A 12 year old peregrine, Zephyr, living wild in South Bend, Indiana
with only one foot, adequately provides for himself and his family.  If Zephyr can kill and feed himself, then Violet should be able to do the same since Violet would be hunting ground prey rather than prey on the wing.
I am so praying Violet's "good" foot can be healed so she can have a chance to live.

I wonder if the poachers will have their hands cut off if caught?

Certainly sounds like an appropriate and reasonable punishment.

Think they also chipped Happy Feet.

Bird snuggling.

Put this under this thread as I didn't want to start a new one.

Is this real?  Too cute for words, but is it real?

Finch keepers call this behavior....."clumping".
159  Member Activities / Events / Re: "Lurker Come Out Week" This means you! on: 12-Oct-11, 05:18:10 PM
Donna, wouldn't the "on line stats" tell you who really is lurking and who is gone forever??
My on line time is right up there with the regular posters and I almost never make any
comments.  I really do qualify as a lurker!

Some one should get the word out that Minnesota needs Supermarkets with meat departments
like we have in the rest of our great country.  It is nice the hunter eats what he kills, but the
question I ask, is it necessary for him to kill to eat????

I really hope they get this bird to the Wild Bird Fund or Raptor Trust as the Animal Care & Control
don't know much about handling birds, no matter if it is a parakeet or a raptor.  They just are not
equipped.

There is another hackbox to the left and a couple younger pefas in that.

They need to make the box entry the same size as the nest entry so the pigeon can't get in.  Seems such a simple solution......can't imagine why they haven't done it.
164  Rochester Falcons / Rochester Falcon Offspring / Re: Quest and Kendal - Toronto/Don Mills on: 20-Jun-11, 02:09:49 PM
Wouldn't it be fantastic if Harlequin (the company) would sponsor a transmitter and tracking for Harlequin (the pefa eyas)??

One can daydream, yeah??
165  Member Activities / Pets / Re: Request for ideas for helping move a dog on: 12-May-11, 10:57:34 AM
It is possibly that her weight is keeping her from standing & walking.  She seems to have the desire to "help".
I suggest you make a sling from a beach towel or bed sheet to hoist up her middle. leaving her legs free
to "walk".  If a person "carried " her weight with the sling, she might be able to get outside to take care
of business.  Lucky you.... she is a female and the sling won't get in the way of her relieving herself.
Your best bet is to help her move, at 70 pounds, it will be unlikely anyone could lift her to put her in  a
wagon, wheelbarrow, etc.  Good luck.
