On the picture from 6:54 this morning with caption of "No breakfast yet", has anyone else noticed that Beauty's eye seems to appear in the shadow on the back of the box (because of the pattern in the wood)?

It looks really cool.

Looks like Harmon has fledged - not in the nest any longer.

It is hard to believe that the little one is only a week old today!  Seems like we've been watching him/her forever.

More times than not, we have no idea what becomes of the Woodmen offspring.  At least we know that Douglas is soaring with so many others we have lost just this year.  Appreciate your posting the news, Kris.

From Woodmen's FB page:  We are proud to announce the names of the newest batch of Woodmen Tower falcon chicks. The young peregrines were named in honor of five Omaha streets, all of which run through downtown. Their names are:
 
Cass, female, band #46/U
 Harney, female, #47/U
 Farnam, male, #07/R
 Dodge, male, #08/R
 Douglas, male, #09/R
 
These names represent a part of Omaha’s history – the people who used to live on them, and those who lived before our time.

The winning name suggestions were submitted by Travis Wurtele, a sales manager at Union Pacific Railroad.

Many thanks for sharing this info and video clip.  I have shared it on my Facebook page (been trying to educate a bit about Peregrines).  The sound quality is good on this.

Three of the five are on the ledge getting fed right now (8:15 Central Time), and the two in the box are livid!

And they want to satellite tag the chicks this year!!  Maybe another 'Quest' type saga to watch unfold.

A: Yes, we would like to put satellite tags on the chick or chicks (the funds for this research project were raised by volunteers and members a couple of years ago and we’ve been holding them until we get chicks). If possible, this would happen at around 6 weeks of age- we will be explaining a lot more about this closer to the time, but meanwhile, why not read up on ringing and satellite tracking under our FAQ’s ( see the tab at the top of this page) .
