The red-banded female may have sustained injuries late last week. The beak and one eye may be injured. These kinds of injuries usually occur as a result of a collision with glass or some other urban structure. Any falcon cam watcher who observes red eating should email the date and time of feeding along with a photo, if possible, to ra-epfalcon@pa.gov. It seems that they are being replaced with new cams.
This evening, one cam was back online. There is now night vision. Also, the stick has been replaced with a new one. I never did see any updates on the red-banded female. I can only hope she survived. Until the cams went down, I had been seeing Niecey and Lil Dad from time to time, most times together. This guy is 6 years old, from all indications he's been spotted before so if he couldn't at a younger age displace dad then maybe he just sneaked in after he saw him gone.

AFTERWARDS, LIL DAD CAME TO SIT ON THE POINT, NOT LOOKING NERVOUS AT ALL. LIL DAD LEFT AND THEN HE SHOWED UP TO BOND WITH WHO I THOUGHT WAS NIECEY AND IT TURNED OUT TO BE A NO BANDED FEMALE!! SO NOW THAT WOULD BE 4 FALCONS TOTAL! WONDER IF THIS FEMALE IS 38/S'S MATE??? THE NO BANDED FEMALE WENT TO THE POINT WHERE SOMEONE WAS BOMBING HER. SHE'S STILL THERE ON THE POINT AND NO OTHER FALCONS ON THE LEDGE. MAYBE LIL DAD TOLD HER TO STAY THERE? OMG, THIS IS TOO MUCH! :o
