Morning watch 4-9-14
By Rochester Falcon Watcher MAK
The sun won out over the clouds today and as I drove past the bank clock on State St. it said 34 degrees (F)Â 1 (C)
There was no time to get settled this morning as I drove down Bank Place to the hole by Aqueduct St. and watched Dot.Ca (DC) fly down off the Mercury money bag (MMB) to mate with Beauty who was on the base of Mercury at 6:41am.
DC flew to the north and a couple minutes later Beauty followed suit. I went north too and found DC on the Kodak Office launchpad southwest corner-soon after he stooped to the north behind the building and I lost sight of him.
Got back in time to see Beauty and DC at the nest box from the Broad St. bridge (BSB) at 7:02am. Beauty had food which I assume DC had just caught over by Kodak and brought to her. They had a few words then DC went in the nest box with his egg.
Next, I saw DC up under the northeast wing then he landed on cam 4 and then over to the main cam. Beauty left with her small package and I went down to the hole by He’s chinese.
I spotted Beauty over on the lower roof of Widows Walk northeast corner plucking feathers.
I drove over to Fitzhugh St. where I thought I would have a better view but the Beautyful one was back on the ledge too far to see what she was munching on.

She walked around the corner and cached her leftovers and took off. When I got back to the BSB around 7:30am DC was on the base of Mercury eating.
A few minutes later DC took leftovers to the deck and Beauty joined him I thought in the nest box before she got the food and started eating.
A couple minutes later DC flew to the MMB and Beauty flew to the base of Mercury to continue eating and finished up about 10 minutes later.
Next, Beauty hop/flew up to green part of the base as DC preened and made some talon gestures from up above her on the money bag.
DC looked down to check on Beauty and she looked up at him and then he prepared to take off.
Beauty flew over to the deck while DC flew over near the Crossroads building then doubled back to land once again on the MMB.
I left to check the Brighton site, found nothing there and left to return to downtown. I spotted a falcon on the MMB as I stopped on Exchange Blvd. across from Cornhill as I usually do, to scope things out before entering downtown. When I got to the BSB tho it was gone and I couldn’t see any falcons in the vicinity. I ended my watch at 9am falconless but smiling anyway, for I had seen our Rochester Peregrine pair doing well the day after laying their first egg! 🙂
PS: Thanks Campgee and Annette for your tweets that all got to me after the fact-darn time delay! lol

Sorry this time delay is making things difficult MAK. In trying to assist we’re more clogging the way. Not sure what can be done.

Don’t worry about it Camp-I’m always going to see things happen live before cam watchers. Every single one of your and Annettes’ tweets came way after I already tweeted and the delay between when I send one out and when it gets to the forum averages around 3-5 minutes. Thanks for trying to help. 🙂

MAK, have you moved yet?
April 10th, 2014 at 9:51 AM
Nora, I haven’t moved yet-there’s a problem with the buyers mortgage commitment so no closing date still and I haven’t found an apartment yet either. Today marks 4 months since the original purchase offer was signed!!! Frustrating times! Thanks for asking!! 🙂
