Morning watch 4-10-14
By Rochester Falcon Watcher MAK
It was 39 warm degrees (F) 4 (C) as I passed the bank clock on State St. to start my watch. It was very breezy and sunny at first but the clouds moved in by the end of my watch
I got a late start this morning arriving downtown about 6:45am because I was watching the livestream with Beauty and Dot.ca (DC) mating not once but twice on cam 1 and that’s where I found Beauty when I got to the hole.
Beauty stood at attention as DC came in with prey at 7:07am-he went up under the northeast wing and started plucking feathers while she whined for her breakfast.
Beauty got impatient waiting for a delivery so she took things into her own talons and flew up to get it herself. DC went to the back of the northeast wing ledge and Beauty grabbed it and took it to the front of the ledge as DC flew off.

DC chased after everything with wings thus clearing the air space around his mate and egg before coming to rest on the Mercury money bag (MMB) while Beauty watched him.
The Beautyful one ate until about 7:30am then cached the leftovers to the back of the ledge and peeked over the edge.
As I was facing the Times Square building with Mercury behind me, I missed DC leave it and go to the nest box (thanks to Donna and Campgee who told me he was in there). He can be very sneaky! lol Beauty saw him as she came out from the back of the wing ledge and had something to say about it. She preened a bit but just couldn’t let DC stay with the egg any longer and flew off to the deck around 8am.
She went in the nest box and about 10 seconds later DC came shooting out flying in a circle and then to cam 1. Beauty came out on the deck and DC flew off to the northeast wing ledge.
I left at this time to check the Brighton Site but had no luck in seeing Pigott-she’s been gone for 2 weeks and 2 days now and it doesn’t look like she’s coming back. I hope she’s ok. 🙁 The juvenile falcon that had been seen there didn’t show up in the 20 minutes I spent there either. I returned to downtown but didn’t see any falcons until Camp tweeted that Beauty was on the nest box perch. Thank you very much! I had to go further east on the Broad St. bridge to barely see her head.
That’s all she wrote as I ended my watch around 9:10am. Keep smiling folks we should have another egg today or early tomorrow! 🙂

And, as we now know, Beauty was wanting that food to gather strength for laying an egg at 5 pm.
Beautiful photos, as always, MAK.
