A beautiful sunrise on the horizon as I made my way downtown on route 490 with a starting temperature of 42 (F) 6 (C) a slight breeze and clear skies

Beauty was on the eggs when I left for this mornings watch and as I arrived on the Broad St. bridge I spotted a falcon watcher sitting in his lawn chair on the south side of the bridge. It was Dan, sporting a big old smiley for me as I pulled up-as far as I’m concerned the season has officially started now with my first watch with my buddy Dan. I got my chair out and joined him! 🙂
We couldn’t see Beauty in the nest box as she was laying on her eggs at first and Dot.Ca (DC) was nowhere in the vicinity. Around 6:55am Beauty came out to perch in front of the nest box and 5 minutes later she flew to the base of Mercury on the northeast corner where we couldn’t see her from the bridge.
Dan and I watched a flock of Canada Geese fly over the river behind the Radisson and out of sight.
The Beautyful one flew to the main camera 10 minutes later. She remained there after Dan left at 7:30am so I went to the hole for a closer view.

Beauty was looking sleepy as she did some rousing and preening while we waited for DC to show up with breakfast. He would make us wait a long time today.
I left to look for DC and while I was gone the little sneak arrived with food-I saw him under the northeast wing of Times Square (TSB) as I was stopped at the traffic light at Main and State St. I went to the hole and parked next to He’s Chinese but I could only see his head poking up from back on the ledge.
The only way I knew he had food were the feathers floating around in the air space around him. He cleaned it up real good and when Beauty started complaining that he was taking too long he flew down with his food gift landing on the north side of the deck by the main cam. Beauty flew off the main cam and landed on the south side of the deck and made a bee line for DC and the food.
When she reached him there was a tug of war which Beauty won-she took a swan dive off the deck and took her fresh meal to the base of Mercury while DC went to his eggs in the nest box around 8am.
Beauty started eating on Mercury and soon after stopped and started looking south then she took off with her leftovers and headed over to the northeast corner of Widows Walk where she resumed eating.
Beauty finished off her meager leftovers, pooped and cleaned herself up a bit by feaking (wiping her beak off) and picking at her talons.
At approximately 8:30am Beauty flew off to the main cam where she perched watching DC on the eggs.
I checked the Brighton site at this time as the police were closing roads around downtown for the Rochester Heart Walk. All I saw were 2 squirrels and 3 crows-I guess Pigott isn’t coming back. 🙁 I had to take an alternate route back to downtown but I made it to the hole to find Beauty still on the main cam. I saw a cute lil pooch sitting on a garbage bin in my travels-its owner came and got it as I pulled away.
I assumed DC was still on the eggs and tweeted as such. I ended my watch at 9:30am and as I left downtown, cam watcher Ei tweeted that DC was indeed on the eggs putting a smile on this watchers face! 🙂
