Velcro has been confirmed as the resident male at Lakeridge Hospital in Oshawa. Alfrieda laid their first egg on Thursday.

LAKERIDGE HOSPITAL NEST:
Sally, Lucie and I decided to head out to the Lakeridge Hospital site to confirm the identity of the nesting pair. We are very excited to confirm that our boy VELCRO has been confirmed as the resident male at this site!! And it's been confirmed that he was here last year as well(thanks to Linda) !! We also confirmed (thank you Sally for that pic!!) that Alfrieda, 73/AW, 2012 hatch out of Buffalo NY is still the resident female (& since 2014!!).  They had 2 chicks last year(Grandkids of our Quest & Mystery) . We have no way, atm, of knowing if Velco was there before that. But he has a wonderful site and a good mate, great news!! And even better, as they have a wonderful camera there, we can follow them.  Here is the link :

Linda also reports that there has been a sub adult intruder. She has a sequence which I include in the pictures at the end.

Egg #3 is here!   

Egg #2 arrived for Aria last night at 7.00 pm 

Marlene emailed me this morning.  Aria laid her first egg of the season at 10.00 am today.

One of Quest and Mystery's 2018 hatches has been spotted in Oshawa, Ontario.  He is Velcro and yes, same name as Linn's daughter nesting at Detroit Zoo - in case you are wondering where you heard that name before

FANTASTIC NEWS YORGOS AT YELLOW PAGES IS ALIVE

I reported earlier that we had gone to check on him to decide when we should start the fledge watch and after an extensive search could not find him on any ledge. Well I have no idea how we missed him but he is now on the 12th floor area alive and well. The fledge watch will be starting in the next day or 2 so hears hoping he wont play hide and seek with anymore. I would appear that Linn from Rochester has become quite foxy and her attempts to hide her chicks has become better over the years lol.

Banding for Linn's two grand kids at Warren is set for tomorrow morning around 11 am.

Banding info for this year:

Atlas weighed 590 grams his band number is C over 39 and he has yellow tape on the silver band
Turner weighed 660 grams and his band number is C over 40 he has Red tape on this silver band.

Looks like Gramma Linn is still going strong    CPF posted her offspring will be banded on June 4th.

Banding for Aria's kids moved to next Monday as they felt the kids are still a bit too young this week.
