After a Long Feeding, Beauty & Dot.ca Stay Nearby – Friday Evening Falcon Watch – 5/30/14
By Rochester Falcon Watcher Carol P.
Another beautiful evening in Downtown Rochester, NY, again with temps near 70 degrees (F). My 1 1/2 hour watch (6:30 – 8:00 pm) was shared with fellow Falcon Watcher Kathy O.
Before I left home, Beauty had been in the middle of a 45 minute feeding at the nest box. When I arrived, Dot.ca was on the ledge just above the nest box on the Times Square Bldg. Kathy said that Dot.ca had also brought food to the nest box, but the eyases crops were full by then. So, he cached it on Widows Walk before landing on the ledge above the nest box. The sound of bag pipes and drums filled the air. They were playing outside the Convention Center, on the other side of the river. My dad and I loved to listen to bag pipe music!
Beauty finished feeding and cached the remainder of the meal she was feeding the eyases on the base of Mercury and then returned to the Times Square Bldg landing on Camera #1 (aka Pan Cam).

Dot.ca took off and chased a couple birds around the other side of the Wilder Bldg. He missed what he was after and landed on the south side of OCSR (First Federal Bldg), 2nd IBeam down from the top.
By 8:00 pm, it was getting busy due to something going on at the Blue Cross Arena aka Rochester War Memorial. All was peaceful and quiet. We left Beauty on Camera #1 and Dot.ca on OCSR guarding their eyases. It was time to go. Goodnight all!
