News from Mississauga Condo: Resident Female identified!!!!!
She's STORMY (40/AB) hatched in 2024 at William Osler Hospital in Etobicoke! Thank you to Rene for this gorgeous photo of STORMY!
Her sisters are RIO (38/AB - sadly, she died from injuries a few months later), OREO (39/AB) and KAI (C/53). KAI has her own special story. She was banded as a male, because she was so small. However, all that changed when our friends at Peregrine Place informed us that KAI laid 4 eggs! She and her unbanded mate, CLARK KENT, have set up house at the Corpus Christi site in Buffalo!
You may remember our post from last fall where STORMY was picked up by TWC very close to MEC. She got into an altercation with another peregrine (we assumed it was MIDNIGHT, the female at MEC at the time, but we didn't know for sure). Thank goodness she was released after 3 weeks -and- far away from MEC. Hopefully, she would stay away. Little did we know that she would appear at another site not that far north of MEC! STORMY is a Toronto girl for sure. She was spotted in the east end at Tommy Thompson Park and the west end at Colonel Sam Smith Park.
STORMY and her sisters have a famous lineage. They are the daughters of KODA-IDESTA and BIRCH. Grandparents are RALPHIE and ALICE, great grandparents are Rhea Mae and Tiago and great great grandparents are Mariah and Kaver. TIAGO is the son of WINDWHISTLER and MANDY! And now the lineage will continue with SABLE and NADIA.
Now that we know who mom is, we can't wait to find who our banded dad is! Stay tuned! Cheers, Lucie
