1  Rochester Falcons / Rochester Falcon Discussion / Fledge Watch 2013 on: 28-Jun-13, 10:49:12 AM
Please do we have a Fledge Watchers' schedule set up for this year?   And when is the first date we can realistically expect one of them to fledge?   Although watching them wandering around the perimeter, I worry that one could fall off sooner than expected!   I'm remembering that Sacajawea's first excursion was more of a fall than a fledge, and that she walked around a lower level of the Kodak tower for quite a while before she was able to fly back up to the nest box!

I'm hoping to be there Saturday morning for the breakfast, and will bring donut holes. Please remind me when and where to show up!
3  Other Nature Related Information / Other Nature Web Cams / Re: Lily, the Black bear Cam on: 15-Jul-10, 07:08:56 AM
Wonderful news this week about Lily and Hope!  After 6 weeks separation following the first reunion, during which Hope was given suplemental food and formula by the researchers but also foraged quite successfully, Lily (who had been off with male bears) wandered back into Hope's area and they reunited, July 11.  This time, Hope is big enough to follow Lily like glue, so we are all optimistic that they will stay together.  Also, the North American Bear Center won $100,000 in the Chase Bank contest for non-profoits, and 195 "runner-ups" won $20,000 each.  This is an annual (or semi-annual) event specifically designed for small local non-profits which use the Internet, so it seems to me that Rfalconcam would have a good chance if it is possible to enter the next time they have it. Read all about it on Lily the Black Bear's Facebook page! clap

Just now, a really good look at the egg;  the pip certinly seems larger!

We got a good view of the third egg with a big pip and what looked like a beak poking out at 10:59 AM today; check the archive for Camera 2 at that time.  Certainly Beauty is acting as though she thinks that egg is viable!  She was struggling mightily to keep the egg and both wiggly eyases covered.

I'm wondering whether all Beauty's pebble pecking might be attempts to deepen the scrape so that it is easier to brood both eyases and the remaining egg?  It looks to me as though she moves pebbles toward where the rim of the scrape would be.

Shaky, Thanks for the reply, but it still is not working for me.  I also tried restarting my computer, opening my Facebook page, then opening and starting up the streaming video, and it still won't let me log in to chat.  My computer is getting older so that may be what is causing the problem.

When I try to log in to chat for the streaming video, I click the Facebook icon and it tells me that I'm not logged in to Facebook -  even while I have my Facebook page open on my computer!  Please, what else should I be doing?  That is, besides enjoying watching the action  -  what a treat!  Many, many thanks to everyone who made this possible!
