Such sad news about Silver, after the ups and downs, and final cautious optimism that he might possibly recover enough to become a well-cared-for "ambassador." Silver and his parents, as well as all of the humans involved, did their very best for a good outcome. Although his life was brief, he did indeed make his mark. Farewell little one. Sad

Thanks to FLaDonna for her texts and calls, and to everyone involved in keeping all of us informed about MAK's surgery.
Let the healing begin! clap
But try not to make her laugh too hard...Ouch!

My condolences to all over the loss of Luzerne, and so terribly sorry MAK lost one of her beloved resident Falcons. Just reading comments about possible human involvement was sickening. I do hope that's not the case. Yes, a very sad week in the Rochester Peregrine world.
7  Rochester Falcons / Rochester Falcon Discussion / Re: Voyager Found Injured in Kitchener, Ontario on: 24-Jul-14, 10:32:24 PM
Thank you, FlaDonna, for emailing me this news before I read it for myself.

I'd like to share my reply to Donna, and her very wise answer...
"Thanks for the warning, Pal. I was just looking at her pictures on my wall calendar. Sadly these accidents happen all the time in the wild, but we're unaware of most of them. Therefore the creature suffers a cruel death. Thankfully she was found, was in good, caring hands and sent on her way the most humane way possible. All this is said with my wise mind. So why am I blubbering, and sick to my stomach?  :^("

Donna's reply was, "Because you reason with your mind and feel with your heart."

Many thanks to those who found and cared for Voyager. Larry, I'm especially sorry for your loss." She did, however, survive past that year mark, which is something to be acknowledged and celebrated.

What joyful news! Thanks, FlaDonna, for calling me at work. Congratulations Pigott and family. I was also wondering if the visiting unbanded tiercel had swept Pigott off her talons and persuaded her to follow him on an adventure. What a big cute baby. Excellent name choice, too!  thumbsup
