C&C's Ohio Peregrine Page
Caught a banded male peregrine eating on the Coastguard tower in Lorain last night (and have seen one here near dark earlier last week as well). He whittled down the prey and then took off with it, over the bascule bridge and toward the 21st Street Bridge (where a pair has nested before), but then flew out of view from our angle. It’s likely there’s a nest either at the 21st Street Bridge again or south of there at the Steel Mill (where pairs have also attempted nesting in the past). Tough to zero in, though—hate to say it, but it’s not very safe underneath the 21st Street Bridge in Lorain to check there and there are sections of the Steel Mill that are shut down. So, we might have to just make the assumption that they are nesting “somewhere” in Lorain. Hopefully, we can see this guy in better lighting at some point. Always wonder if it could be
Cheyenne
, and it certainly could be Zeus, who disappeared from his hunting grounds in Elyria with Evelyn just as nesting time was kicking in.

I've always wondered what happened to him after his release, then I think of our Seneca and whatever happened to her?
