Someone's a Hoarder!!  Shocked

The meteorologists at KVRR in Fargo, ND had quite a surprise when this falcon decided to bring his lunch up to their tower cam.
I know the picture is a bit graphic, but it's certainly not something you see every day! I love how he's just staring at the camera.
Amazing image from the Fargo, ND site. If you look closely, you will notice that the left leg is bare, although the right leg is banded with the Eastern peregrine falcon's project band. Somewhere along the line, the federal band broke off.

I wish they'd turn this cam and the Rapid City, SD cams on for the season!

Question, were there more pictures somewhere?  I couldn't see the right leg in the picture?  One nice stash though!

Ok I found the article and it's not one of the "locals" and the other photos on FB.

http://www.kvrr.com/index.php?option=com_content&task=view&id=20109&Itemid=57  and they have a video.

Thanx Donna.  wave

Nope, just showing re-runs Nora. I'm trying to find more pics but this one was taken by a Meteorologist!

Dakota Ace and Miracle are the pair.

Dakota Ace and Miracle, a pair of Peregrine Falcons, are incubating eggs once again atop the Bank of the West building in downtown Fargo, N.D., and Audubon Dakota has a web cam focused on their manmade aerie to capture all the action: http://www.audubon.org/webcams/audubon-dakotas-peregrine-falcon-nest-cam.

Hmm, who is Francis? New male? Yikes!

Last month the gal that has to do with the bandings posted this on the RRP board.  Wonder if this was a female passing through, a male passing through, or her new mate?  She hasn't posted since and that was April 14th she said the following.

>I was informed that a new system was installed recently and the cam would be up "soon".  The same female has returned but is paired with a new male.  As I get more info, I'll post ASAP.<

Given that the band was on the wrong leg to begin with, I'd say it fell off because it was attached incorrectly.

He could have been a re-habbed bird and only given one band...... like Mariah.
Or--sometimes bands are removed to set broken legs.
Should be some record of the other band with info.....

What's interesting is that it could have an eastern band.  They did figure this was a tundra falcon because of it's light color (per their falcon "expert").  I thought the tundras were pinkish on the front.
