I found this pigeon

Yesterday when I was outside, I saw something strange. I walked closer and closer. At least I saw the head of a pigeon on a body what looks liked it was only a half part. And lots of feathers everywhere. I thought that it was impossible that this pigeon could survive. But I couldn't let him die there. With some help I put him in a box. Everybody needs to have a box in their car for moments like this.
I drove very fast to the bird shelter and look when they took him out the box he looks a lot better.
It's a young pigeon, he lost lots of feathers and one wing was broken. 4 people
came to help him, they were all very nice. They told me that pigeons can drop their feathers when they have extreme stress or when a cat takes them, it gives them a possibility to escape.
Most of the birds that are taken to this shelter are pigeons, but they make no difference, they help every bird. I'm sure my pigeon is in good hands.
greetings Aafke

Good job Aafke!
I agree with you. I always carry a cardboard pet carrier in my car. I've had to use it twice now.

We have all kinds of boxes, blankets, gloves etc (ok work related) in the trucks, but we've used them to rescue some "critter" in need.
