A red-shouldered hawk (17-273) arrived at CROW yesterday from Fort Myers with head trauma and unfortunately died overnight. During intake radiographs indicated an egg that was successfully removed and is currently being incubated. We will know in a few days if the egg is viable.

How sad!

Oh, how sad is that!? Hopefully the egg hatches and the hawk lives on through its offspring.  Cry

So sad that this beautiful Red-shouldered Hawk did not survive. I hope the egg is viable and will hatch. I also wonder about her mate and whether she had laid other eggs this year. Sad
