As if this situation in Montreal isn't  sad enough, a friend called me yesterday to say she saw a dead pigeon on the road near the main library here in rochester.  Another pigeon would not leave its side and was trying to move it.  I didn't get the message in time to investigate.  I don't know if the pigeon was hit by a car or was a falcon casualty.

My friend called 911 but they said they couldn't do anything about wildlife.  She was concerned the second bird would be hit.  She was amazed at the second bird's attempt to move the 1st and that it wouldn't leave it.  I hate saying "it" for a living being.
