Gad! I hope you got the wrong person.  I had to pinch myself to make sure I was still alive when I read your post. surprise

The person you are thinking of that passed away was Brian Walton.  He was one of the original members of the SCPBRG and kept it going for over 30 years.  The group went through tough times when the economy went bad, funding was cut and the university had to let three people go.

Now the only full time member is Glenn Stewart and he concentrates on education.  He's been doing the banding at several sites and I was there when he banded the chicks in San Francisco and in Alameda at a bridge the next day.
I have a day job drafting just two blocks from where peregrines are nesting on a 34 story building, so I photograph them at noon and after work.

Here is one I  took  of the female, Diamond Lil soaring over the city.

I also volunteer by helping to run the web camera at that site: http://www2.ucsc.edu/scpbrg/nestcamSF.htm and I am a co-moderator on the yahoo discussion group for that camera.

Which you can find here:http://pets.groups.yahoo.com/group/SF_PGE_Falcons/

Glad everyone liked my cliff shots, being a city boy I don't get to see them very often, I only manage a couple of visits a year. Location has to remain a secret, but I can tell you it was not Morro Rock.  The peregrines are doing well in California now and can be found up and down the coast where the cliffs are right for nesting.

My workplace is blocking this forum, so I can't respond during the day except by email which I would be happy to answer should any of you have questions.  Will check back in here evenings. Best to all.

Regards,
Glenn Nevill

Nice to see you here, Glenn.  Like Mark Twain, the reports of your death were greatly exaggerated!  Sorry to hear about staff cutbacks at Santa Cruz.  I have enjoyed your outstanding photographs for years.  Thank you for sharing them so liberally.

Sorry about that.  Yes, I was thinking about Brian Walton.  Aren't there two Brian's at SCPBRG?  I, too, love your pictures and reports about the falcons.  So glad you can post a bit on this forum.

Thanks all,  I'll try to check in as best I can. Seems with a day job and helping out on the other list, I feel like this guy most of the time... hyper

And having this list blocked at work makes it hard to check in at all.

Best regards,

Glenn Nevill
