To keep better track of the really good pictures in the Rfalconcam Archive, a "Like" button has been added to the Archive Viewer. When you are going through the archive and see a picture you like, click on the button to tag the picture as a good one.

Hey Shaky...just trying to figure out the purpose of this feature...is there a way to view pictures that have been tagged, either by me or others?

Not yet.

This is more for the purpose of keeping good pictures online. We have a finite amount of storage space for our archive. There isn't room for every single one of the millions of pictures captured by our cameras. Some of them need to be moved offline to make room for new pictures that are captured every minute of every day. The problem is deciding which ones to keep online and which ones to move offline. Our staff isn't big enough to go through all images and tag the keepers. Besides, who is to say that what we decide to keep online is what you or someone else would want to keep? Why not make it more democratic and let everyone decide? Hence the "Like" button.
