Vandalism at Morro Museum
A beloved landmark was vandalized over the weekend and the California State Parks needs your help to catch the culprit. The bronze statue at the entrance to the Morro Bay State Park Museum of Natural History was vandalized by an unknown suspect sometime in the late evening or early morning hours of September 5 and 6.
The $25,000 statue entitled “Seasons Come Seasons Go” was completed by the artist Mark Greenaway for the 2002 rededication of the museum. It was damaged when it was removed by force and the portion depicting a peregrine falcon was stolen.
The damages are estimated at $7,000.
