The Kakapo population, which was only 51 in 1995, has now gone to 125 with the addition of 34 chicks this year. It's a very large, flightless parrot.

I saw them on a Nature show about a month ago....they are huge and just walk around the rainforest floor and eat fruit. They are amazing. Thanks.

I've been in moods like that.
the NZ rainforests are the coolest place. My best memory of NZ is hiking a full day alone through one, listening to tui calls

for hours and hours. I almost forgot I had 35 pounds on my back!
