WILDLIFE carer Christine Wynne was disgusted to learn more than 50 fairy martin birds were killed during a vicious attack on their nests in Bargara.
Ms Wynne is now looking after just four survivors after 83 nests were destroyed.
βI hope whoever did this is prosecuted and fined to the maximum,β she said.
RSPCA inspector Amanda Yates said the nests were found at the back of a private home yesterday morning.
βThe man who lived there was quite upset someone had done this,β she said.
Ms Yates said she found the nests and the bodies of the dead birds in the rubbish bin β including two still alive.
βIf you have birds you want removed, you must do it humanely,β she said.
