They want to take his transmitter off as they've found it's delayed the return migration anywhere from 3 weeks to a month - hence the reason he's back late.  The females transmitter fell off she she has come home on time last year and this year. 

He's been late two years in a row now and she keeps hooking up with this new guy and then Transmitter guy comes back and runs him off.  He was still in South America when the falcons started courtship.
