 falcon

An adult female peregrine falcon flew into a glass door last Thursday and was brought to Wild Care in Eastham, the Cape’s Emergency Wildlife Clinic, where it was treated for “critical injuries,” according to executive director Lela Larned.

A team of volunteer veterinarians worked on the bird and by Sunday afternoon the falcon was released. 2thumbsup State wildlife biologists suspect the falcon may have been en route from Iceland or Newfoundland to her wintering grounds in South America.

To help offset expenses associated with thousands of Wild Care patients like the peregrine falcon, visit wildcarecapecod.org or address tax-deductible donations to WILD CARE, 10 Smith Lane, Eastham, MA 02642.
