Deborah writes:

EPL webmaster David Jordan has installed the new FalconCam, featuring live picture and sound (under the disapproving and vocal scrutiny of [apparently] Squawker).

For now, we can watch it at FalconCam  Later, we'll be able to watch it at the FalconCam page on the EPL website. First though, Dave has to re-build the page and imbed the video feed there.

He's also checking into the cost of ad-free feed. In the meantime, the ads are a necessary evil.
Check it out - there's a scrape between and slightly to the left of the two uprights.

note that the sound is partially from the third floor reading room of the library, where the cam is. But from personal experience, the falcons will be plenty audible from there as well  hurt.

Very cool dale, nothing like hearing the falcons and screaming babies LIVE! Seems they are all starting to go Live stream. It's for the best!  Wink

I haven't been following much, but it seems that the falcons have relocated their nest on the library - a few weeks ago I noticed the falcons copulating on the west side of the building and wondered at the location. Anyway, they have chosen a new spot and laid at least one egg there already - the cam is supposed to be relocated by Friday - I assume it will reveal more eggs.

Hi Dale,

I always thought it was such a special place, and I'm wondering about the new one.

Carla - it is a special place - most particularly because of how incredibly easy it is to falconwatch there. I think the new scrape is just at a different window, so the circumstances may be very similar. As far as I know it still is on the third floor (the library only has 3).

Just walked past my other "local" - the Uptown Theater; a falcon was perched on the fire escape in G/G's usual spot - I assume it's him. Looking good, G/G, or whoever you are.

Stephanie Ware has an interesting post on her Chicago peregrine blog:
