The memorable storm of Friday evening, July 19 spawned a waterspout over Lake Ontario which came ashore as a tornado in Hilton, NY at about 7:30 that evening.  Hilton is about 20 miles northwest of the Rochester nestbox, and is the home of Quest Elementary School, for whom our Quest is named.  Fortunately, the tornado quickly lost its strength over land.  I'm sure glad it didn't get to our falcon family.

By the way, although this area is very close to the Braddock Bay Raptor Research Center, I haven't heard of any damage there to animals or buildings, so no news is good news.

I was in Hilton on Huffer Rd. real close to that at the time visiting my nephew Jeff. We watched several fire trucks rush down the road and shortly after we lost power. It was one nasty looking sky over the lake!!  yes rain

No biggie and call me crazy  crazy but I love storms! If I were to ever move to Arkansas with my sis I'd surely look into being a storm chaser!!!  Roll Eyes
