Mudlock Bald Eagle Nest

Yesterday Don and I checked the Bald Eagle nests around Montezuma. The Mudlock nest, tree and all, evidently went down in the strong winds of last week. We sat for a while hoping to see the pair, but no sign.
We've watched the Bald Eagles at the Lock for a number of years, and are now hoping they will either re-build or take over the lock Osprey nest. The Osprey nest was taken over by a pair of Bald Eagles a number of years ago. Poor Osprey pair were rather upset, but who is going to argue with a Bald Eagle!

Hello All,
Don and I spent yesterday watching the Mudlock Bald Eagles, mainly to see if they had chosen a new nest tree...yes, they had! The wind was incredible yesterday, but they carried in huge branches to their new nest site. At one point, the head wind was so strong that the Eagle rested in several trees several along the way before reaching the chose nest tree. It has a way to go, by Bald Eagle standards, but it looks as though they plan to re-nest! Don took some pics and I can provide details of where it is if anyone is interested.
